Gypsy roots

Possibly the most glorious picture I have ever come across!!

The story is that my great great grandfather came back from his exploring with a mysterious woman with raven black hair and big wide dark soulful eyes. This lady (my great great grandmother) was a Romany gypsy. I love romance, stories of far away lands and the idea of building a home where ever the wind takes me, I am proud that the mysterious woman is part of my history.

Have a marvellous Sunday

Charming

Charles Faudree's bathroom from Cote de Texas

I have chosen this image as it reminds me of my parents little 13th Century Welsh cottage and their choice of decoration. It is a 5 hour car journey to get there from where I live, I have had such a rotten day, that today (if I had a car) I would quite honestly drive for 10 hours to sit chatting at the dinning table, scoffing my mums delicious home made, Aga cooked dinners, sand ampling my fathers home made sloe gin.

Ah well...... Tomorrow is another day, and Easter Holidays are just around the corner

Riad el Fenn

Looking for some summer sun? Me too, Britain is no longer covered in snow (hurrah) but now it has started to rain again(boo), so i am starting to plan a summer away in Morocco, home of dreamy furnishings. Here are some to die for rooms from the lovely Riad el Fenn, being a horder myself I can never imagine having such minimal rooms, but wow what colour. Maybe less is more?

p.s. 3 blogs in one day may be a bit obsessive, but I have an essay due so what better way to procrastinate?

Bat for Lashes

Originally from Brighton, as I have proudly mentioned before, I am pleased that an artist such as Natasha Khan aka Bat for Lashes has been proudly boasting her residence in the wonderful sea side city.

A musician, artist and former primary school teacher is there nothing this lady can't do?I just love her quirky style her music is pretty good too.

Twig herself

Twigs Bathroom

"Interiors stylist Twig Hutchinson, 30, lives with her husband and their 21-month-old daughter in a Victorian semi in Stockwell Park.
In four years, Twig has transformed the family's two-bedroom house using faded hues and salvaged treasures. The bathroom cost around £5,500 including a state-of-the-art shower (but not builders' costs on top). 'I sanded back the reclaimed pine floorboards from Lassco and treated them with a grey lye from Dane Care.
'In the middle of the room is a 1920s French bath from The Water Monopoly, which cost £2,500. The washstand is made up of a French sideboard from Kempton Antiques Market and a basin from Holloways of Ludlow and handmade Moroccan tiles from Habibi Interiors.
'The base was a snip at £120 and the taps just £100 but the tiles were £158 per sq m. But that's the key to reclamation  -  some fixtures are an expensive outlay but others can be picked up cheaply if you know what to look for.
'I love our bathroom. I feel happy whenever I go in there. Taps in the middle is the way forward. Oh, and a bath rack to put your gin and tonic on! I can sit in the bath with my husband chatting for hours.'

May I add I most certainly do not read the Daily Mail Newspaper that this article was from but thought it was an intresting article.

Hot Looks of 2009

www.page4angels.blogspot.com

1- The most popular looks of 2009...

www.page4angels.blogspot.com

2- Eyes: The smokey look was much in demand this year, with grey, dark brown, steely blue, purple and green being the favourite colours. Coloured eye pencils were also popular.

3- Lips: Bright metallic colours were in demand. Shades of red like cherry, rose and burgundy made a comeback. Women also sported a frosty sheen or shimmer on their lips. Lip liners matched the shade of the lipstick.

4- Gothic nails: At the beginning of 2009, matte colours such as black, burgundy and chocolate brown were the rage. The trend then moved towards more psychedelic hues - yellow, orange, shocking pink, sky blue and green.

5- Fringe benefits: Fringes came back with a bang. Side swept fringes also gained popularity. The layered look with a wavy finish worked for those with long hair.

6- For men, the refined school boy look with side fringes and short hair from the back and sides was a hit.

7- Retro-look eyelashes: Actress Bipasha Basu's look in Race sums up the trend - long, curled eyelashes touched up with extra volume mascara.

8- Hair colour: Rich natural brown and deep chocolate colours were hot hair colours. Highlights and low lights were the 'in' thing, with streaks being bolder in colour but fewer in number.

9- Shimmery skin: Foundation took backstage as light tinted moisturisers found popular favour, both for day and night use. The aim was to project a sheer, translucent look instead of a heavily made-up look.

10- Rumpled hair look: The 'Bob' look made a comeback. For short hair, the slightly tousled look was in fashion - not harsh or obviously structured, but careless and casually done up.

11- Back-combed hair also picked up steam.

12- Rosy cheeks: Alongwith the use of translucent foundation, a natural flushed look for the cheeks with just a hint of blush-on ruled the style charts in 2009.

13- Neutral, warm tones of powder blusher were in, with bronzed blushers becoming more popular towards the latter part of the year.
